The Militia Imaculata, or MI, founded by St. Maximilian Kolbe is open to Catholics of all walks of life, and its aim is to win the whole world for Christ through the Immaculata, that is, Our Lady of the Immaculate Conception. MI members, called Knights of the Immaculata, consecrate themselves to Jesus through Mary Immaculata, who is also the Patron Saint of the United States, and in the foremost sense strive to increase the strength of their own interior life. Beyond this, bold members strive to get more persons consecrated to Mary, or participate in organizing apostolic works to that same end.

The MI Village of Tulsa is the center of all this effort, striving to serve all these ends as a refuge of fellowship, a circle of planning, and a base of operations. The MI Village of Tulsa intends to provide Catholic Formation, fostering a love of sacramental life, with a focus on the Eucharist as well as Mary, igniting the parish and beyond with a zeal to become generous instruments of heaven, giving witness to the Truth and promoting the sacredness of human life. Village meetings are open to anyone, even non-members, and involve prayer of the rosary, readings, and sharing of prayer intentions, as well as planning of Apostolic works. Attendance is not required for membership.

Because MI as a whole is focused on a mindset of consecratory surrender, and thus constant engagement and encounter, the most active members of the MI will find their lives transformed with purpose, and the most devoted will find their interior lives likewise take new shape. The MI has a special love of those members who, in a position to offer only their prayer, do their utmost, and has a special order for these members, the Knights at the Foot of the Cross. Members who sign up officially receive a Miraculous Medal, a prayer book, and a certificate. There are Indulgences offered for Members on their day of consecration and on Marian feast days.

Holy Family Parishioner Michael Lovell, faolind@gmail.com, is the ministry leader for the Militia Immaculata. The group’s first meeting is on Saturday, August 15, 2026 from 6:15 to 7:00 p.m. in the Halpine Room. Meetings will continue on the third Saturday of each month.
