Bishop David Konderla blessed the copper cross that will be placed on the top of the central spire next week. He prayed and sprinkled holy water on the ten-foot-tall cross. Cathedral Rector Father Brian O’Brien join him with Father Jon Fincher, Deacon Jon and Monica Conro, Dr. Alex Skufca, and several members of the roofing crew.

After the cross blessing, Bishop Konderla offered a special blessing to the roofers. He enjoyed looking at some of the other decorative elements that are being put into place on and around the spire.

The cross is scheduled to be lifted into place next week.
