Job Description: Event Monitor
Status: Part Time
Type: Ministerial
Reports to: Office Manager
Job Summary: The Holy Family Cathedral Event Coordinator is responsible for the set-up, maintenance and upkeep of event spaces on the campus of Holy Family Cathedral before, during and after events, working in collaboration with staff and leadership to ensure a hospitable, professional environment. The Event Venue Coordinator works non-traditional hours and is on-call working variable and changing shifts during weekdays, weekends, evenings and holidays as necessary.
Essential Functions:
- Ensures event venues are ready for planned events and that event space including furnishings, unlocking doors, turning on lights and adjusting heat/air, AV equipment, kitchen and bathrooms are exceptionally maintained.
- Coordinates, maintains and provides custodial care for all event spaces, including furnishings, AV, kitchen and bathrooms, ensuring that all policies and procedures are adhered to.
- Assists in the coordination of vendors and handles parishioner queries on-site to ensure a smooth operation.
- Performs dismantling after the event, ensuring the space is returned to pre-event status including providing custodial care with the event space, bathrooms and kitchen areas, and removing all food and trash.
- Provides weekend custodial, sanitation and maintenance care in preparation for Masses.
- Problem-solves on the fly as needed to ensure a smooth and satisfactory resolution of unexpected situations during events.
- Monitors equipment, including AV and kitchen equipment, ensuring consistent proper working order, identifying problems and reporting repair needs to maintenance office.
- Performs other duties as necessary and directed

Experience:
- 1-3 years working with events and event venue maintenance is preferred, but not required, will train.
- Working knowledge of maintaining AV equipment preferred.

- Ability to multi-task and to effectively and professionally handle high stress deadlines

Volunteer Details:
- Shifts: Three to four-hour shifts, either morning or afternoon, once a week
- Location: Parish Office
- Duties: Assisting with phones, mailings, and various administrative tasks
