Construction Update: Creating 20,000 sq. ft. of Green Space in Downtown Tulsa

Dirt and Sod

The short term goal for the 924 South Boulder property (formerly First Church of Christ Scientist) is to remove one of the parking lots, fill it in with dirt, and lay sod. The space will bring 20,000 square feet of grass to downtown Tulsa.

Earlier this month, an excavator scraped off the asphalt parking lot. This week, a series of dump truck unloaded thousands of pounds of soil on the bare lot.

The school plans to fence the area.

Demo begins on one of the small spires

After weeks of building scaffolding, roofers are beginning to remove the copper-foil shingles from the spires. They will strip the spires down to the metal decking.

The roofers will replace the old shingles with solid copper ones.
