Let’s meet our new Parochial Vicar Father Jon Fincher

Fr. Jon Fincher is a priest of the Diocese of Tulsa and has served as Chaplain at Bishop Kelley High School for the past three years. Before that he was the Parochial Vicar at the Parish of Christ the King in Tulsa. He also serves as Assistant Vocation Director for the Diocese of Tulsa and Chair of the Priestly Life and Ministry Committee.

A native of Tulsa, Fr. Jon grew up as a parishioner of St. Pius X Catholic Church and is a proud graduate of Bishop Kelley High School.

After high school, he attended Benedictine College in Atchison, Kansas, where he deepened his faith and discerned a vocation to the priesthood. He entered seminary formation at Holy Trinity Seminary in Irving, Texas, before continuing his studies in Rome, where he spent five years immersed in the life of the universal Church.

Ordained a priest on June 26, 2020, Fr. Jon’s priesthood is marked by a passion for evangelization, discipleship, and helping individuals encounter Jesus Christ. His ministry is deeply influenced by a love for the Eucharist, Catholic education, and the conviction that beauty, friendship, and authentic Christian witness are privileged paths to encountering Christ.

Whether celebrating Mass, leading a retreat, accompanying others on pilgrimage, or backpacking through the
mountains, Fr. Jon seeks to help others recognize God’s presence in every aspect of life and respond generously
to His call. He draws particular inspiration from the vision of Servant of God Luigi Giussani, especially his emphasis on the experience of faith as an encounter with the living Christ in the ordinary moments of life; from the joyful witness of St. Pier Giorgio Frassati, whose adventurous holiness continues to inspire young people toward a
life of prayer and generosity; the radical charity of St. Teresa of Calcutta, who revealed Christ to the poorest and most forgotten; and the theological depth of Pope Benedict XVI, whose writings illuminate the harmony of faith and reason.

Outside of ministry, Fr. Jon enjoys good coffee, reading, traveling, cycling, and spending time in the outdoors.
